1. About this policy

Equilend (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard data in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. Data stored on your device

All financial data you enter — transactions, budgets, goals, and profile details — is stored exclusively in your browser’s IndexedDB. We do not transmit this data to any server. Clearing your browser data will permanently delete it.

3. Information we may collect

If you contact us via the broker referral form or support email, we may collect your name, email address, and the message content you provide. This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry.

4. How we use your information

We use contact information only to respond to enquiries and, where you have consented, to connect you with an Equilend mortgage broker.

5. Disclosure to third parties

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share your contact details with an Equilend-affiliated mortgage broker if you expressly request a consultation.

6. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect any personal information we hold. Financial data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export or share it.

7. Access and correction

You may request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you by contacting us at privacy@equilend.com.au.

8. Complaints

If you have a complaint about our handling of your personal information, please contact us at the address above. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted in the app with a revised “last updated” date.
